This manual contains general instructions for operation, precautionary instructions, and
maintenance recommendations for the owners and operators of the Tropic Heater Heating
Units. In order to obtain maximum life and efficiency of the Heating Units, please read this
manual thoroughly and follow all instructions prior to operating the unit.
Specifications put forth in this manual were in effect at the time of publication. However,
changes to these specifications may be made at any time without obligation on the part of
Sammons Preston.
FOREWORD
The precautionary instructions found in this section and throughout this manual are
indicated by specific symbols. Understand these symbols and their definitions before
operating this equipment. The definitions of these symbols are as follows:
= CAUTIONS - Text with a “CAUTION” indicator explains possible safety infractions
that could have the potential to cause minor to moderate injury or damage to
equipment.
= WARNINGS - Text with a “WARNING” indicator explains possible safety infractions
that will potentially cause serious injury and equipment damage.
= DANGERS - Text with a “DANGER” indicator explains possible safety infractions
that are imminently hazardous situations that would result in death or serious
injury.
NOTE: Throughout this manual, “NOTE” may be found. These notes are helpful information
to aid in the particular area or function being described.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Read, understand, and practice the precautionary and operating instructions. Know the limitations associated with •
the Tropic Heater Heating Units. Observe the cautionary and operational decals installed on the unit.
DO NOT operate this unit in an environment where other devices are being used that intentionally radiates •
electromagnetic energy in an unshielded manner. Portable and mobile RF communications equipment can affect
Medical Electrical Equipment.
The Tropic Heater Heating Units generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and •
used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to other devices in the vicinity. However,
there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. Harmful interference to other
devices can be determined by turning the Tropic Heater Heating Unit on and off. Try to correct the interference
using one or more of the following: reorient or relocate the receiving device, increase the separation between
the equipment, connect the equipment to an outlet on a different circuit from that which the other device(s) are
connected and consult the Sammons Preston Service Department for help.
Do not use accessories other than those supplied with the Tropic Heater Heating Unit or recommended by •
Sammons Preston. The safety of other products has not been established, and their use could result in injury to the
patient.
Never adjust the thermostat too high. The thermostat is extremely sensitive and the slightest adjustment will alter •
the temperature several degrees. The recommended operating temperature is 160° F to 165° F (71° to 74° C). The
temperature of the water should be checked with a thermometer after every adjustment, before using the Tropic
Pac. Always allow sufficient time for the water temperature to stabilize.
The Tropic Heater Heating Unit should not be installed above a surface that is susceptible to casual water damage.•
Always keep the water level over the top of the Tropic Pacs to avoid burning or scorching of the packs.•
Never allow the Tropic Pacs to dry after use.•
Check water level daily as it has a natural loss due to evaporation.•
Clean the tank periodically as described in the maintenance portion of this manual.•
Check unit periodically for signs of leaking and contact service if leaks are noted.•
Always replace Tropic Pacs as soon as they show signs of wear.•
If the unit is to be left unattended for a period of time, unplug the unit, remove the packs, empty the water, and •
clean the tank.
Do not move the Tropic Heater Heating Unit while filled with heated water. Tipping over could result in burns to the •
user or others.
Always unplug the Tropic Heater Heating Unit from the power source before attempting to empty water from unit.•
Always use factory authorized replacement parts.•
Always destroy and replace Tropic Pacs which are exposed to contamination: hazardous or cleaning materials, •
bodily fluids, mold, etc.
This unit should be operated, transported, and stored in temperatures between 0° F and 140° F (-18° C and 60° C) •
and atmospheric pressure range between 50 kPa - 160 kPa, with relative humidity ranging from 10% - 100%.
Treatment time should not exceed 30 minutes.•
DO NOT retrieve Tropic Pacs from tank or replace Tropic Pacs in tank with unprotected hand.•
Avoid direct contact with mounting rack in tank.•
Always wrap Tropic Pac with towel or terry cover before handling or applying to patient.•
Constantly monitor Tropic Pac application to ensure that the skin is not becoming too hot.•
Damage to skin can occur from exposure to extreme heat or cold. Note instructions for proper use.•
DO NOT apply over insensitive skin or in the presence of poor circulation.•
Never lay or sit on top of the Tropic Pac.•
DO NOT use Tropic Pac directly over cuts, abrasions or wounds.•
Consult health care professional before using Tropic Pacs on non-communicative individuals.•
Exercise extreme caution when using Tropic Pacs on non-communicative individuals.•

Explanation of Symbols
Thermostat Intensity Control
• Grounding the Tropic Heater Heating Units: Make certain the unit is electrically grounded by plugging into a
hospital grade electrical outlet with a ground terminal receptacle (U-ground outlet). Follow the National Electrical
Code.
• The water temperature in the Tropic Heater Heating Unit is approximately 160° F (71° C), and the water scalding
temperature is approximately 120° F (49° C).
• Care must be taken when operating the Tropic Heater Heating Unit adjacent to or stacked with other equipment.
Potential electromagnetic or other interference could occur to this or other equipment. Try to minimize this
interference by not using other equipment in conjunction with it.
• The Tropic Heater Heating Unit should be placed on a smooth, level surface. The surface should support up to the
Filled Weight (weight of heating unit filled with water) found in Technical Specifications.
• Use only accessories that are specially designed for the Tropic Heater Heating Unit. Do not use accessories
manufactured by other companies on the Tropic Heater Heating Unit. Sammons Preston is not responsible for any
consequence resulting from using products manufactured by other companies. The use of other accessories or
cables may result in increased emissions or decreased immunity of the Tropic Heater Heating Unit.
• Periodically inspect unit for signs of damage and pitting during regular cleaning intervals, as described in
maintenance portion of this manual. Contact service if any signs of damage are discovered.
• DO NOT apply Tropic Pac directly to skin.
• Individuals with circulatory problems should consult with a physician before using this product.
• DO NOT sit or lie on the Tropic Pac.
• DO NOT add chlorine additive to water.
• DO NOT allow Tropic Pac to come in contact with hydrocarbons (e.g., Comet®, Soft Scrub®, etc.).

NOMENCLATURE
WHITE LAMP (where applicable), when illuminated, indicates that main power is connected,
the switch is on and unit is operating.
GREEN LAMP (220/240 volt units), when illuminated, indicates that main power is connected,
the switch is on and unit is operating.
RED LAMP (where applicable), when illuminated, warns of an overheat/low water condition.
Action is necessary to correct the condition.
IMPORTANT: Some models are fitted with a thermal cut-out thermostat which acts as a
“non self-resetting” thermal cut-out. In the unlikely event of a fault condition, this device is
designed to open the power circuit between 190° F ± 14° F (88° C ± 8° C). It is not possible
to alter its operating range. The operation of the unit may be restored by depressing the
red button after the water/element temperatures have been allowed to cool. If the fault
condition persists, please contact Sammons Preston or an authorized agent.

SETUP
Remove all of the contents inside the Tropic Heater Heating Unit and then replace the wire
rack. Make certain the drain valve is closed before filling the tank with water. The tank should
be approximately 3/4 full with packs removed. The tank may be filled from any standard type
faucet.
Check the voltage rating on the serial decal plate which is located on the back of the unit.
To turn the unit on, simply plug the unit into a 120 Volt, 60 Hz or 220/240 Volt, 50-60Hz
outlet as indicated on the decal plate. To turn the unit off, simply unplug from outlet. Do
not attempt to use direct current. Follow the procedures indicated in the Precautionary
Instructions. Do not attempt to use the unit if it is not properly grounded.
OPERATION
The Tropic Heater Heating Unit is simple and easy to operate. The controls are located
in the rear, near the bottom of the unit. The thermostat controls the temperature of the
water. It is located near the bottom of the unit on the control panel. It has been tested and
preset at the factory to normal operating temperature. If further adjustment is necessary,
it can be easily accomplished by turning the adjusting screw located on the thermostat.
Turning the outer screw counterclockwise lowers the temperature, while turning it
clockwise raises it.
NOTE: Do not turn the inner stem under any circumstance! Stem is preset by the
manufacturer.
The Tropic Heater Heating Units operate through the use of a hydraulic capillary-type
thermostat and can be left plugged in and turned on to provide a ready supply of heated
Tropic Pacs.
The Tropic Pac rack accommodates different sizes and types of packs.
3537/ 3537V – The unit comes complete with four Standard Size Tropic Pacs.
3540/ 3540V – The unit comes complete with six Standard Size Tropic Pacs.
3538/ 3538V – The unit comes complete with eight Standard Size Tropic Pacs.
5614-05 – The unit comes complete with eight standard Tropic Pacs.
3539/ 3539V – The unit comes complete with 12 standard Tropic Pacs.

MAINTENANCE Tropic Heater Heating Units by Sammons Preston
The Tropic Heater Heating Unit is equipped with an immersion type heating element and a
hydraulic capillary type thermostat which evenly maintains the Tropic Pac temperature in the
water and provides a ready supply of heated packs. It is critical to maintain the water level
over the top of the Tropic Pac to avoid damage to the heating element, the stainless steel, or
the Tropic Pac. Water is constantly lost during operation due to evaporation. Therefore, it is
essential that water be added daily. The tank should also be drained, cleaned and inspected
systematically, at minimum intervals of every two weeks.
Always unplug the unit from the power source when emptying or cleaning the unit. Drain
the unit by the drain valve located at the bottom rear of the unit. Either move the unit to a
floor drain or attach the extension hose to it when draining. (3537/ 3537V Units have no drain
and can be emptied by turning unit upside down.)
The Tropic Heater Heating Unit is made of high quality stainless steel that, with proper care
and maintenance, could easily last a lifetime. Improper care could allow the stainless steel to
wear prematurely.
Follow these simple steps to ensure that the Tropic Heater Heating Unit remains in excellent
condition:
Excessive chlorine can be detrimental to the stainless steel in the Tropic Heater Heating 1.
Unit. No bleach or any cleaner with high chlorine content should be used under any
circumstance.
Clean regularly for optimal service and operation. 2.

Fill daily with water. Water is constantly lost during operation due to evaporation.3.
Chlorine in regular tap water may be present in high enough concentrations to damage 4.
the unit. If you suspect high levels of chlorine in the Tropic Heater Heating Unit, the
addition of a dechlorinator is recommended.
Certain additives (such as herbal teas, essential oils, etc.) will damage the Tropic Pacs and 5.
components of the heating unit, including the stainless steel. The Tropic Heater Heating
Unit was designed to heat water and Tropic Pacs only. The addition of any such foreign
substance (except dechlorinator) to the water in the unit will void the warranty.
Inspect the heating element for pitting and other visible damage during regular cleaning 6.

To avoid potential for rusting:
Do not1. use bleach or cleaners with high chlorine content.
Do not2. use paper clips, safety pins, staples, coat hangers, etc., in, on, or near the unit.
Do not3. clean the unit with carbon steel wool or a carbon steel brush. Use only soft cloth, Scotch-Brite™
type scouring pads of green, blue, or white abrasiveness, or stainless steel wool if absolutely necessary.
Do not4. use abrasive cleaners which tend to disturb the grain in the finish, especially on the exterior of
the unit. For exterior cleaning, use only non-abrasive stainless steel polish.
Water level is critical: Add water daily, if necessary, to keep it full.5.
Regularly clean and drain the tank6. (every two weeks). Failure to properly maintain the unit will cause
premature wear and will void the warranty.
Remove all deposits from interior surfaces and parts. The deposits are concentrations of minerals that 7.
will allow rusting to begin. If allowed to accumulate on the heating element, these deposits will lower
the efficiency of the element and increase the power consumption of the unit. However, exercise
extreme care if cleaning element or thermostat(s). These components can be easily damaged without
proper care or caution.
If you suspect that you have “hard water”, you may need to change the water and clean the unit more 8.
frequently. Salt deposits are an indication of hard water that will eventually cause rust.
Cleaning Tips
The interior of the unit should be cleaned, at least every two weeks, using a low abrasive bathroom 1.
cleaner with a soft cloth or green, blue, or white Scotch-Brite™ type scouring pad. Stainless steel wool
may be used if necessary, but not regular, carbon steel wool. Check for low or no chlorine content in
your cleaner and make sure that the residue is thoroughly rinsed away with water.
A strong solution of vinegar and water may be used to dissolve away deposits, which then must be 2.
thoroughly rinsed away. Results may vary.
For exterior cleaning, use stainless steel polish and a soft cloth only. Numerous industrial stainless steel 3.
polishes are available from various supply companies. Use of any cleaner except stainless steel polish
on the exterior of the unit is not recommended. Abrasive cleaners and scouring pads can damage the
finish of the unit.
Care of Tropic Pacs
Always return the Tropic Pac to the hot water of the heating unit after each treatment. There it is heated,
kept clean, and ready for immediate use. The Tropic Pac may be boiled; however, this hastens the
deterioration of the pack. The pack may also be cleaned by scrubbing the pack with soap and water. The
simplified method of keeping the pack clean is to keep it immersed in water.
The Tropic Pac, under constant daily use, should have a useful life of at least one year. When the pack begins
to wear out, the filler oozes and leaks through the fabric of the cloth and sections of the pack appear to be
loose and empty and will not retain heat properly. The pack should be replaced when it reaches this state.
Original replacement Tropic Pacs may be ordered from an authorized Sammons Preston dealer.
NOTE: If Tropic Pacs are to be stored for extended periods, they may be placed - while wet - in plastic bags
and stored in a freezer.

Sammons Preston ("Company") warrants that the Tropic Heater Heating Units ("Products") are free of
defects in material and workmanship. This warranty shall remain in effect for one year (12 months)
from the date of original consumer purchase. If these Products fail to function during the one year
warranty period due to a defect in material or workmanship, at the Company's option, the Company
or the selling dealer will repair or replace this Product without charge within a period of thirty days
from the date on which the Product is returned to the Company or the dealer.
All repairs to the Product must be performed by a service center authorized by the Company. Any
modifications or repairs performed by unauthorized centers or groups will void this warranty.
To participate in warranty coverage, this Product's warranty registration card (included with Product)
must be filled out and returned to the Company by the original owner within ten (10) business days
of purchase.
This Warranty Does Not Cover:
Replacement parts or labor furnished by anyone other than the Company, the selling dealer or a •
certified Company service agent.
Defects or damage caused by labor furnished by someone other than Company, the selling dealer •
or a certified Company service agent.
Any malfunction or failure in the Product caused by product misuse, including, but not limited to, •
the failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance or any use that is inconsistent with

precauciones a tomar, el matenimiento e información acerca de piezas de recambio. Se
recomienda que antes de poner en funcionamiento cualquiera de las unidades Tropic Heater
Master el usuario lo lea y se compenetre de su contenido y siga todas las instrucciones que se
dan, lo que llevará al máximo la eficiencia de la operación y su druración.
Las especificaciones que se describen en este manual estaban en vigor a la fecha de

indicadas en la placa de la unidad.
NO utilice esta unidad en un entorno en que se estén utilizando otros aparatos que radien a propósito energía •
electromagnética de una forma no protegida. Los equipos de comunicación portátiles y móviles de RF pueden
afectar al equipo eléctrico médico.
La Unidad de Tropic Heater genera, utiliza y puede radiar energía de radiofrecuencia y, si no se instala y utiliza de •
acuerdo con las instrucciones, puede causar interferencias perjudiciales para otros aparatos cercanos. No obstante,
no se garantiza que no se den interferencias en una instalación determinada. La interferencia perjudicial para
otros aparatos se puede determinar encendiendo y apagando la Unidad de calentamiento. Intente corregir la
interferencia aplicando uno o más de las indicaciones siguientes: reoriente o recoloque el aparato receptor, aumente
la separación entre los equipos, conecte el equipo a un enchufe de un circuito eléctrico distinto de aquél al que esta
conectado el otro aparato o aparatos y consulte al Departamento de Reparación de Sammons Preston para que le
ayude.
No use accesorios que no sean los que se suministran con la Unidad de Tropic Heater, o los recomendados por •
Sammons Preston. No se ha establecido la seguridad de otros productos y su uso podría provocar lesiones al
paciente.
Nunca configure el termostato demasiado alto. El termostato es muy sensible y el mínimo ajuste modificará la •
temperatura en varios grados. La temperatura de funcionamiento recomendada es de 160° F a 165° F (de 71° a
74° C). Hay que comprobar la temperatura del agua con un termómetro después de cada ajuste, antes de utilizar el
Tropic Pac. Deje siempre pasar suficiente tiempo para que se estabilice la temperatura del agua.
La Unidad de Tropic Heater no debe ser instalada sobre una superficie susceptible de deterioros ocasionales por •
agua.
Mantener el nivel del agua SIEMPRE por encima de los Tropic Pacs, para no quemarlos ni chamuscarlos.•
No dejar NUNCA que los Tropic Pacs se sequen después de usarlos.•
Verificar el nivel del agua todos los días, para compensar su evaporación•
Limpiar el tanque periodicamente siguiendo las instrucciones que se dan este manual en el capítulo de •
mantenimiento.
Compruebe periódicamente que no existen señales de fugas en la unidad y póngase en contacto con el servicio •
técnico si detecta alguna.
Reemplazar SIEMPRE los Tropic Pacs apenas den señales de desgaste.•
Si la unidad debiese dejarse fuera de operación por un período más o menos largo, desenchufarla, retirar los Tropic •
Pacs que tenga adentro, vaciar el agua y limpiar el tanque.
No mueva el Tropic Heater mientras se llena de agua. Si se vuelca el usuario u otra persona podría quemarse.•
Desenchufe siempre el Tropic Heater de la fuente de alimentación antes de intentar vaciar el agua de la unidad.•
Usar SIEMPRE repuestos autorizados por la fábrica.•
Destruir y reemplazar SIEMPRE cualquier Tropic Pac que se haya contaminado, sea cual sea la causa.•
Esta unidad se debe poner en funcionamiento, transportar y almacenar a temperaturas entre 0° F y 140° F (-18° C y 60° C) y •
un intervalo de presión atmosférica .entre 50 kPa - 160 kPa, con una humedad relativa que oscila entre 10% - 100%.
El tiempo de tratamiento no debe superar los 30 minutos.•
NO extraiga los Tropic Pacs del tanque o sustituya los Tropic Pacs en el tanque sin llevar protección en la mano.•
Evite contacto directo con el estante de montaje del tanque.•
Envuelva el Tropic Pac con una toalla o funda de toalla antes de darlo o aplicarlo al paciente.•
Supervise constantemente la aplicación del Tropic Pac para impedir que la piel se caliente demasiado.•

PRECAUCIONES
Puesta a tierra de las unidades Tropic Heater Master. Asegurarse de que la unidad esté bien conectada a tierra •

NOMENCLATURA
LA LAMPARILLA BLANCA: (en unidades para 110/120 voltios) al estar encendidas, indican
que la unidad está conectada a la corriente eléctrica, el interruptor está en la posición "ON" y
está funcionando.
LA LAMPARILLA VERDE: (en unidades para 220/240 voltios) al estar encendidas, indican que
la unidad está conectada a la corriente eléctrica, el interruptor está en la posición "ON" y está
funcionando.
LA LAMPARILLA ROJA: (si la hubiese) al encenderse indica que la temperatura del agua ha
excedido el límite o que el nivel ha caído por debajo del mínimo requerido y que se debe
corregir cualquiera de las dos situaciones.
IMPORTANTE: Algunos modelos disponen de un termostato de parada térmica que actúa
de parada térmica que no se reinicia sola. Este termostato ha sido ajustado para cortar
la corriente cuando el agua llegue a una temperatura de 190° F ± 14°F (88° C ± 8°C). Este
rango de operación es fijo y NO SE PUEDE MODIFICAR. Para poner la unidad nuevamente
en funcionamiento una vez que se haya reducido la temperatura del agua o del elemento,
se deberá pulsar el botón rojo. Si la falla continuase, se ruega al usuario que se ponga en
contacto con Sammons Preston o uno de sus agentes autorizados.

CONFIGURACIÓN
Extraiga todo el contenido del interior de la Unidad de Tropic Heater y a continuación
reemplace el estante de alambre. Antes de llenar la unidad con agua, tener cuidado de que la
canilla de drenaje esté cerrada. El tanque debe ser aproximadamente 3/4 por completo con
los paquetes quitados. Para llenar el tanque se puede usar simplemente agua corriente de la
canilla.
Ver el voltaje indicado en la placa de número de serie colocada en la parte trasera de la
unidad. Para poner en funcionamiento se debe simplamente enchufar ya sea en una toma
de c.a. de 120 voltios y 60 Hz de c.a. de 220/240 voltios, 50/60 Hz, siguiendo las indicaciones
de la placa. Para apagar la unidad sólo basta desenchufarla. NO USAR la unidad en corriente
contínua. Seguir las indicaciones dadas en el capítulo Precauciones. NO USAR la unidad, a
menos que esté puesta a tierra correctamente.
OPERACION
La Unidad de Tropic Heater es sencilla y fácil de utilizar. Los controles están ubicados en la
parte trasera, cerca del fondo de la unidad. La temperatura del agua es controlada por un
termostato, ubicado en el panel de control, cerca del fondo de la unidad. El termostato ha
sido probado en fábrica y fijado a la temperatura normal de operación. Si fuese necesario
efectuar un ajuste adicional, el mismo se podrá lograr haciendo girar el tornillo exterior de
ajuste del termostato hacia la izquierda para bajar la temperatura o hacia la derecha para
aurmentarla.
NOTA: ¡No dé vuelta al vástago interno bajo ninguna circunstancia! El vástago es
preestablecido por el fabricante.
Las Unidades de Tropic Heater funcionan mediante un termostato hidráulico de tipo capilar y
puede dejarse enchufado y encendido para disponer de Tropic Pacs calientes listos para usar.
El estante de Tropic Pac puede acoger diferentes tamaños y tipos de paquetes.
3537/ 3537V - Con la parte móvil instalada, la unidad tiene capacidad para cuatro packs de
tamaño estándar.
3540/ 3540V - La unidad viene con dos Tropic Pacs grandes, tres de tamaño estándar y un
pack para cuello.

MANTENIMIENTO
Sammons Preston no recomienda que se mueva la Unidad de Tropic Heater mientras esté llena de agua •
caliente. Si se vuelca, el usuario u otra persona podría quemarse. Si se ha de mover la Unidad de Tropic
Heater mientras está llena, ¡extreme las precauciones! Se recomienda dejar que se enfríe el agua a por
debajo de 120º F (49º C) antes de mover la unidad.
Desenchufe siempre la Unidad de Tropic Heater de la fuente de alimentación antes de vaciar el agua de •
la unidad.
ATENCIÓN
La Unidad de Tropic Heater está equipada con un elemento de calentamiento de inmersión y un termostato
hidráulico de tipo capilar, que mantiene uniformemente la temperatura del Tropic Pac en el agua y proporciona
una reserva de paquetes calientes listos para usar. Uno de los puntos críticos a observar es el mantener el nivel
del agua por encima del elemento para evitar dañar el elemento en sí, el acero inoxidable o los Tropic Pacs.
Durante la operación el calor causa una constante reducción del volumen de agua en la unidad, lo que hace
necesario añadir agua todos los días. También hay que vaciar, limpiar e inspeccionar sistemáticamente el tanque
como mínimo cada dos semanas.
Se debe siempre desenchufar la unidad de la corriente eléctrica antes de limpiarla o vaciarla. Para vaciar la
unidad utilizar la válvula de drenaje que se encuentra en la parte inferior trasera de la misma. Para ello, llevar la
unidad hacia un desagúe o utilizar su manguera de desagüe. (3537/ 3537V las unidades no tienen ningún dren
y pueden ser vaciadas dando vuelta a la unidad al revés)
La Unidad de Tropic Heater está realizada en acero inoxidable de alta calidad que, con un buen cuidado y
mantenimiento, puede fácilmente durar para siempre. Con un cuidado indebido, el acero inoxidable podría
estropearse prematuramente.
Siga estos sencillos pasos para que la Unidad de Tropic Heater se mantenga en excelentes condiciones:
El exceso de cloro puede ser perjudicial para el acero inoxidable de la Unidad de Tropic Heater. Bajo ninguna 1.
circunstancia utilice lejía ni otros limpiadores con elevado contenido de cloro.
Límpiela regularmente para obtener servicio y funcionamiento óptimos.2.
NOTA: En caso de no realizar un correcto mantenimiento de la unidad (incluida la limpieza regular)
su garantía quedará anulada.
Llenar la unidad con agua todos los días. La evaporación causa una pérdida constante del agua.3.
El cloro del agua corriente, si se encuentra en gran concentración, puede causar daños a la unidad. Si 4.
sospecha que existen elevados niveles de cloro en la Unidad de Tropic Heater, se recomienda añadir un
declorante.
Algunos aditivos (tales como tés de hierbas, aceites esenciales, etc.) causan deterioros en los Tropic Pacs y en 5.
los componentes de la unidad de calentamiento, incluido el acero inoxidable. La Unidad de Tropic Heater ha
sido diseñada sólo para calentar agua y Tropic Pacs. La adición de sustancias ajenas (excepto desclorante) al

No utilice clips, imperdibles, grapas, perchas, etc., dentro, sobre o cerca de la unidad2.
No limpie la unidad con lana de acero al carbono o un cepillo de acero al carbono. Utilice un paño suave, 3.
estropajos de tipo Scotch-Brite™ de abrasión verde, azul o blanca o lana de acero inoxidable sólo si es
absolutamente necesario.
No utilice limpiadores abrasivos que tienden a estropear el acabado, especialmente en la parte externa de la 4.
unidad. Para la limpieza de la parte exterior, utilice sólo pulidor de acero inoxidable no abrasivo.
El nivel de agua es crucial: añada agua a diario si es necesario para mantener la unidad llena.5.
Limpie y vacíe el tanque con frecuencia (6. cada dos semanas). La falta de un correcto mantenimiento de la
unidad provocará desgaste prematuro y anulará la garantía.
Elimine todos los depósitos de las superficies y piezas interiores. Los depósitos son concentraciones de 7.
minerales que provocarán la aparición de oxidación. Si se permite su acumulación en el elemento de
calentamiento, los depósitos reducirán la eficacia del elemento y aumentarán el consumo de energía de
la unidad. No obstante, tenga especial cuidado cuando limpie el elemento o el/los termostato(s). Estos
componentes pueden sufrir deterioros fácilmente si no se ejerce el debido cuidado.
Si sospecha que el agua es "dura", puede que deba cambiar el agua y limpiar la unidad con más frecuencia. 8.
Los depósitos de sal son indicadores de agua dura y a la larga causan la aparición de óxido.
Sugerencias de limpieza
El interior de la unidad deberá ser limpiado al menos cada dos semanas mediante un limpiador de baño 1.
poco abrasivo y un paño suave o un estropajo de tipo Scotch-Brite™ verde, azul o blanco. Si fuera necesario
se puede usar lana de acero inoxidable, pero no lana de acero al carbono normal. Compruebe que su

Cuidado De Los Tropic Pacs
SIEMPRE se debe volver a colocar los Tropic Pacs en el agua caliente de la unidad después de cada tratamiento.
Así se les mantendrá calientes, limpios y prontos parea ser usados nuevamente. Los packs se pueden hervir,
pero ello acelera su teterioración. Los pacs pueden lavarse con agua y jabón. El método más simple de
mantener los pacs limpios es de mantenerlos sumergidos en agua.
El Tropic Pac, con uso diario constante, debería tener una vida útil de al menos un año. Después el paquete
comenzará a desgastarse, el llenador rezumará y tendrá fugas a través del tejido de la tela y habrá partes del
paquete que parezcan sueltas y vacías y que no mantengan bien el calor. Cuando el pack alcanza este estado se
le debe remplazar. Se pueden colocar pedidos de Tropic Pacs con cualquier vendedor autorizado por Sammons
Preston.
NOTA: Si los Tropic Pacs debiesen guardarse por largos periodos de tiempo, se les puede colocar (aún
húmedos) en una bolsa de plástico y guardarlos en un congelador.

La compañía (Sammons Preston) garantiza que las unidades de Tropic Heaters (el Producto) no tienen ningún
defecto de materiales y fabricación. La garantía es válida por un período de un (1) año contado desde la fecha
de adquisición por el comprador original. La presente garantía se extiende a cualquier propietario posterior del
producto dentro del plazo arriba indicado. Si este producto dejase de funcionar durante el período de garantía
y el fallo fuese atribuible a defectos de materiales o fabricación, en la opción de la compañía, la compañia o el
vendedor autorizado del producto lo reemplazaráno repararán sin cargo alguno dentro de un período de 30
días contados desde la fecha en que la compañia o el vendedor reciban el producto defectuoso. La compañía o
el vendedor remitirán al domicilio del propietario una unidad de reemplazo o la unidad original reparada.
Sólo los centros de servicio autorizados por la Sammons Preston están habilitados para efectuar reparaciones
de este producto. Esta garantía dejará de tener validez si algún otro centro o grupo de servicio no autorizado
