Be careful not to cut or drill into gas tanks, fuel lines, brake or hydraulic lines, vacuum lines or electrical wiring when working on any vehicle. • Aftermarket amplifiers will put an increased load on the vehicle's battery and charging system, which can reduce battery and alternator life. It is strongly recommended to upgrade your factory alternator and battery for optimum performance from your new audio system. CAUTION: Before installation, disconnect the battery negative (-)terminal to prevent damage to the unit, fire and/or possible injury. 1. Choose a mounting location that will be secure and offer plenty of unobstructed space for proper cooling. Then plan the wire routing. Keep RCA cables close together but isolated from the amplifier's power cables and any high power auto accessories, especially electric motors. When feeding the wires through the fire wall or any metal barrier, protect them with plastic or rubber grommets to prevent short circuits. Leave the wires long at this point to adjust for a precise fit at a later time. NOTE: Never run wires underneath the vehicle. 2. Prepare the power cable for attachment to the amplifier by stripping 1/2' of insulation from the end of the wire. Insert the bared wire into the B+ terminal and tighten the setscrew to secure the cable in place. 3. Trim the power cable within 18' of the battery and strip1/2'of insulation from the end of the wire. 4. Strip 1/2' from the battery end of the power cable and crimp a large ring terminal to the cable. Use the ring terminal to connect to the battery positive terminal. DO NOT install the fuse at this time. NOTE: ALWAYS protect the battery and electrical system from damage with proper fusing. 5. Prepare the chassis ground by scraping any paint from the metal surface and thoroughly clean the area of all dirt and grease. Strip the end of the wire and attach a ring connector. Fasten the cable to the chassis using a non-anodized screw and a star washer. Prepare the grounding cable for attachment to the amplifier by stripping 1/2' of insulation from the other end of the wire. Insert the bared wire into the GND terminal and tighten the setscrew to secure the cable in place. S. Prepare the REM turn-on wire for connection to the amplifier by stripping 1/2' of insulation from the wire end. Insert the bared wire into the REM terminal and tighten the setscrew to secure the cable into place. Connect the other end of the REM wire to a switched 12-volt positive source. NOTE: The switched voltage is usually taken from the source unit's accessory /remote lead. 7. Securely mount the amplifier to the vehicle or amp rack. Remember: Think before you drill! NOTE: Be careful not to mount the amplifier on cardboard or plastic panels. B. Connect the source signal to the amplifier by plugging the RCA cables into the input jacks at the amplifier. 9. Connect the speakers. Strip the speaker wires 1/2' and insert into the speaker terminal and tighten the setscrew to secure into place. Be sure to maintain proper speaker polarity. DO NOT chassis ground any of the speaker leads as unstable operation may result. NOTE: Mono amplifier speaker outputs (- & +) are wired in parallel internally. 10. Perform a final check of the completed system wiring to ensure that all connections are accurate. Check all power and ground connections for frayed wires and loose connections. Complete the installation by installing the proper value fuse. OPERATION Adjusting Level: To adjust the level setting, turn the amplifier gain level to the lowest setting. Turn the source unit volume up until distortion is audible and then slowly down until the distortion is inaudible (approximately % volume position). Next, increase the amplifier level setting until once again distortion is audible and then down slowly until the distortion is inaudible. NOTE: Proper level setting is done by a trained professional utilizing an oscilloscope. For a more in depth setting procedure, contact Lightning Audio Technical Support. Adjusting Crossover: Select the appropriate position for the crossover filter switch. Turn the crossover adjustment knob to the lowest setting. With the system playing at normal listening level, turn the crossover adjustment knob up slowly until the desired crossover point is achieved. Example: subwoofers-low pass with an 80Hz crossover point and full-range- high pass with a 1DDHz crossover point NOTE: Some models include a subsonic filter with a variable 15-55Hz high pass filter designed to prevent frequencies below the audio range from being applied to the subwoofer from the amplifier. Set this to your personal preference while listening to the system. Die Fahrgestellerdung durch Abkratzen der Farbe von der Metalloberflche und grndliches Reinigen der Stelle von Schmutz und Schmiere vorbereiten. ATTENTION: Avant !'installation, dbranchez la borne ngative (-)de la batterie pour viler d'endommager l'appareil et prvenir les risques d'incendie et de dommages corporels. 1. Choisissez un emplacement de montage sr et entour d'un espace bien dgag pour assurer un bon refroidissement. Planifiez alors l'acheminement des fils. Dnudez l'extrmit du fil d'alimentation sur 13 mm.pour prparer sa connexion l'amplificateur. Insrez la partie dnude du fil dans la borne B+, puis fixez le Iii en serrant la vis d'arrt. 3. Dnudez l'autre extrmit du cble d'alimentation sur 13 mm et insrez-la dans un fusible matre, qui doil tre install moins de 45 em de la batterie. 4. Coupez un segment de fil d'alimentation de 45 em et dnudez ses deux extrmits sur 13 mm. Sertissez une des extrmits dans une grosse cosse anneau, puis fixez celle-ci la borne positive(+) de la batterie. Connectez l'autre extrmit au porte-fusible du fusible matre. N'installez PAS le fusible pour !'instant. REMAROUE : Protgez TOUJOURS la batterie et le circuit lectrique des dommages potentiels en utilisant les fusibles adquats. 5. Prparez la masse du chssis en grattant toute trace de peinture de la surface mtallique et en la nettoyant soigneusement pour liminer tout dpt de salet et de graisse. Dnudez l'extrmit du fil et sertissez-la dans une cosse anneau. Fixez le fil au chssis l'aide d'une vis non anodise et d'une rondelle dents. Dnudez l'autre extrmit du fil de masse sur 13 mm pour prparer sa connexion l'amplilicateur. Insrez la partie dnude dans la borne GND, .puis lixez le fil en serrant Ia vis d'arrt. 6. Prparez le lil de tlcommande (REM) connecter l'amplificateur en dnudant son extrmit sur 13 mm, insrez la partie dnude dans la borne REM, puis fixez le fil en serrant Ia vis d'arrt. Connectez l'autre extrmit du fil de tlcommande (REM) la borne positive d'une source 12 volts commute. REMAROUE : Le courant commut est gnralement tir du fil de tlcommande ou d'accessoire de Ia source audio. 7. Fixez solidement l'amplificateur au vhicule ou la baie d'amplificateur. Important : rflchissez bien avant de percer. REMAROUE: Veillez ne pas monter l'amplificateur sur des panneaux en plastique ou en carton. 8. Connectez le signal source l'amplificateur en branchant les cbles d'entre RCA connecteurs d'entre de l'amplificateur. 9. Connectez les enceintes. Dnudez l'extrmit des fils sur 13 mm, puis insrez chacun dans sa borne d'enceinte et serrez la vis d'arrt pour le fixer. Veillez maintenir la bonne polarit des enceintes. Ne mettez AUCUN fil d'enceinte la masse sur le chssis, car cela pourrait entraner un fonctionnement instable. REMAROUE : Les sorties de haut-parleur de l'amplilicateur (- & +) sont cbles en parallle dans le circuit interne. 10. Effectuez une dernire vrification du cblage pour vous assurer que toutes les connexions sont bien effectues. Vrifiez que toutes les connexions d'alimentation et de masse sont bien serres et qu'aucun fil n'est effiloch. Terminez !'installation en installant le fusible de calibre recommand. UTILISATION Rglaga du nivaau: Pour rgler le niveau, commencez par baisser fond le rglage de gain de l'amplilicateur. Augmentez progressivement le volume de !'unit source jusqu' ce qu'une distorsion soil audible, puis baissez-le lentement jusqu' ce que Ia distorsion devienne inaudible (environ au 3/4 de Ia course du rglage). Augmentez ensuite le rglage de niveau de l'amplilicateur jusqu' ce que Ia distorsion soil de nouveau audible, puis baissez-le lentement jusqu' ce que Ia distorsion soil inaudible. REMAROUE : Le rglage optimal du niveau ncessite un technicien spcialement form utilisant un oscilloscope. Pour une mthode de rglage plus approfondie, prenez contact avec !'assistance technique de Lightning Audio. Rglaga du filtra: Slectionnez Ia position qui convient pour le commutateur du filtre. Mantenga juntos los cables RCA pero aislados de los cables de alimentacin del amplificador y de cualquier cable de alta potencia de accesorios elctricos del automvil, especialmente de motores elctricos. Prepare el cable de alimentacin para conectarlo a! amplificador pelando 1/2 pulg. de aislamiento del extrema del cable. Inserte el cable desnudo en el terminal B+ y apriete el tornillo de fijacin para fijar el cable en su sitio. 3. Pele 1/2 pulgada del otro extrema del cable de alimentacin del amplificador e iilserte en un fusible maestro, que se debe instalar dentro de una distancia de 18 pulgadas de Ia batera. 4. Corte un trozo de 18 pulgadas de largo de cable de alimentacin y pele 1/2 pulgada de ambos extremes. Instale a presin un terminal de anillo grande en un extrema del cable y fjelo en el terminal positive (+) de Ia batera. Conecte el otro extrema a! porta fusible maestro. NO instale el fusible en este momenta. NOTA: Proteja SIEMPHE Ia batera y el sistema elctrico contra daos usando los fusibles correspondientes. 5. Prepare Ia tierra del chasis raspando Ia pintura de Ia superficie de metal y limpie completamente el rea para evitar suciedad y grasa. Pele el extrema del cable e instale un anillo conector. Fije el cable a! chasis por medio de un tornillo no anodizado y una arandela de estrella. Conecte el otro extrema del cable HEM a una fuente de alimentacin conmutada positiva de 12 voltios. NOTA: El voltaje conmutado normalmente se toma del cable de accesorios/remoto de Ia unidad fuente. 7. Monte el amplificador de manera segura en el vehculo o en un bastidor de amplificador. Quando si Javor a su un veicolo, fare sempre attenzione a non intaccare o praticare fori nel serbatoio e nelle tubature della benzina, nelle tubature idrauliche o in quelle dei freni, nelle tubature sottovuoto e nelle linee dell'impianto elettrico. • Gli amplilicatori del mercato secondario aumentano il carico sulla batteria del veicolo e sul suo sistema di carica e riducono Ia durata della batteria e dell'alternatore. Si consiglia vivamente di sostituire l'alternatore e Ia batteria in dotazione di serie per ottenere i migliori risultati dal nuovo impianto audio. ATTENZIDNE: prima dell'installazione, scollegare il terminals negative (-) della batteria per evitare danni all'unit, incendio e/o il rischio di lesioni. 1. Scegliere per il montaggio una posizione sicura che offre molto spazio libero per un raffreddamento adeguato. Quindi pianificare il percorso dei fili. Tenere i cavi RCA vicini assieme rna isolati dai cavi di alimentazione dell'amplilicatore e da ogni accessorio ad alta potenza, specialmente i motori elettrici. Quando si fanno passare i fili attraverso una parete tagliafiamma, o altra barr!era metallica, si consiglia di proteggerli con guarnizioni di gomma o di plastica per evitare cortocircuili. A questo punto lasciare che i fili siano di lunghezza abbondante per poterli regolare dopo con pi precisione. NOTA: non far passare mai i fili sul fondo del veicolo. 2. Predisporre il cavo di alimentazione per collegamento all'amplificatore spelando l'estremil del rivestimento isolante del filo per una lunghezza di 1/2 di pollice (1,3 em). Inserire il filo denudate nel terminale B+ e serrare Ia vile di fermo per garantire che il cavo si mantenga a posto in modo sicuro. 3. Spelare per 1/2 pollice (1,3 cm)l'altra estremit del cavo di alimentazione dell'amplificatore e inserire in un fusibile principale che dovrebbe essere installato entro 18 pollici (45) em) dalla batteria. 4. Tagliare un pezzo di cavo di alimentazione lungo 18 pollici [45) em) e spelarlo per 1/2 pollice (1,3 em) a entrambe le estremil. Strozzare un grande terminale ad anello su una estremit del cavo e lissare in modo sicuro al terminale [+) della batteria. Collegare l'altra estremit al portafusibile principale. NON installare il fusibile a questo punto. NOTA: Proteggere SEMPRE Ia batteria e l'impianto elettrico contro i danni utilizzando fusibili adeguati. 5. Preparare il punto di messa a terra sul telaio raschiando Ia vernice dalla superficie metallica e pulendo a fondo !'area per togliere sporco e grasso. Spelare l'estremit del filo e attaccarvi un connettore ad anello. Fissare il cavo al telaio usando una vite non anodizzata e una rondella dentata. Predisporre il cavo di messa a terra per collegamento all'amplilicatore spelando l'altra estremit del rivestimento isolante del filo per una lunghezza di 1/2 di pollice (1,3 em). Inserire il filo denudato nel terminale GND e serrare Ia vite di fermo per garantire che il cavo si mantenga a posto in modo sicuro. 6. Predisporre il filo di accensione del comando a distanza HEM per collegamento all'amplilicatore spelando l'estremit del suo rivestimento isolante per una lunghezza di 1/2 di pollice (1,3 em). Inserire il filo denudate nel terminale HEM e serrare Ia vite di fermo per garanlire che il cavo si mantenga a posto in modo sicuro. Collegare l'altra estremit del filo HEM a una fonte commutata positiva di 12 V. NOTA: Ia tensione commutata proviene normalmente dal conduttore sorgente di comando a distanza/accessori dell'unit. 7. Montare l'amplificatore in modo sicuro sul veicolo o in apposite contenitore di alloggio. Ricordare di pensarci prima di fare fori col trapano! NOTA: prestare attenzione per non montare l'amplificatore su pannelli di cartone o plastica. B. Collegare il segnale sorgente all'amplilicatore inserendo i cavi RCA neUe spine d'ingresso dell'amplilicatore. 9. Collegare i diflusori. Spelare i fili per una lunghezza di 1/2 di pollice (1,3 cmt inserirli nel connettore terminale e serrare le viti di fermo per tenerli a posto in modo sicuro. Accertarsi di mantenere Ia corretta polarit del diffusore. NON mettere a terra nessuno dei conduttori dei diffusori perch ci potrebbe causare un funzionamento instabile. NOTA: Le uscite monoaurali dell'amplificatore (- e +) sono collegate in parallelo all'interno. 10. Una volta terminate, eseguire un controllo finale del cablaggio dell'impianto per garantire che tutte le connessioni siano state eseguite correttamente. Controllare tutte le connessione di alimentazione emessa a terra per accertarsi che non ci siano logoramenli e allentamenti. Completare l'installazione inserendo il fusibile di corretto valore. rUNZIONAMENTO Regolazione dellivella: per regolare l'impostazione di livello, ruotare illivello guadagno sull'impostazione minima. Alzare il volume dell'unit sorgente sino a quando si sente distorsione e quindi abbassarlo lentamente sino al punto in cui Ia distorsione non pi udibile (circa 3/4 della posizione del volume) Quindi, aumentare l'impostazione di livello dell'amplificatore sino a rendere udibile di nuovo Ia distorsione e poi abbassare lentamente sino a quando Ia distorsione non pi udibile. NOTA: l'impostazione dellivello coretto eseguita da parte di un tecnico professionista che utilizza un oscilloscopio. Per una procedura di impostazione pi dettagliata, contattare il servizio assistenza tecnica di Lightning Audio. Regalazione del crossover: selezionare Ia posizione adatta per l'interruttore del filtro di crossover. Ruotare Ia manopola di regolazione del crossover all'!mpostazione minima. Con il sistema in funzione al normale livello di ascolto, ruotare Ia manopola di regolazione per aumentare Ia frequenza di crossover lentamente fino a raggiungere il punto di crossover desiderate. Esempio: subwoofer- passa basso con punto di crossover a 80Hz e pieno intervallo- passa alto con punto di crossover a 100Hz. NOTA: alcuni modelli sono dotali di filtro subsonico incorporate con filtro passa alto variabile da 15 a 55 Hz che evita che le frequenze al di sotto del limite di udibilit siano passate dall'amplificatore al subwoofer. lmpostare il comando sul valore preferito mentre si ascolta.
