construction and operation of the light fixture’s/luminaire’s
electrical system and the hazard involved. If not quali fied, do

that have the construction features and dimensions shown in
the photographs and/or drawings included in these installation
instructions, and where the input rating of the retrofi t kit does
not exceed the input rating of the luminaire.

enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit
installation.
WARNING: To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not
expose wiring to edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
NOTICE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply

FCC Rules.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmful interference in a residential installation.
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency

Warranty
WHAT IS COVERED
The manufacturer warrants this lighting fixture to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of (5) years from
date of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original consumer purchaser and only to products used in normal use and service. If
this product is found to be defective, the manufacturer’s only obligation, and your exclusive remedy, is the repair or replacement of the
product at the manufacturer’s discretion, provided that the product has not been damaged through misuse, abuse, accident, modifications,
alterations, neglect, or mishandling.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
This warranty shall not apply to any product that is found to have been improperly installed, set-up, or used in any way not in accordance
with the instructions supplied with the product. This warranty shall not apply to a failure of the product as a result of an accident, misuse,
abuse, negligence, alteration, faulty installation, or any other failure not relating to faulty material or workmanship. This warranty shall not
apply to the finish on any portion of the product, such as surface and/or weathering, as this is considered normal wear and tear.
The manufacturer does not warrant and specifically disclaims any warranty, whether express or implied, of fitness for a particular purpose,
other than the warranty contained herein. The manufacturer specifically disclaims any liability and shall not be liable for any consequential

Installation
Before beginning assembly, installation or operation of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with the package
contents list. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install or operate the product. Contact customer service for
replacement parts.
Item 1002774081/Model # 53191101 can be installed into 5 in. and 6 in. housings.
NOTE: Product is shipped in the 6 in. position. If installing in a 6 in. housing with ears, no adjustments are necessary.
However, if installing in a 6 in. housing without ears or in a 5 in. housing, the appropriate instructions must be followed.

Turning off the power
□ Make sure the power is turned off at the source to the
recessed can housing where the fixture will be installed.
Remove the existing bulb and trim, revealing the socket.
NOTICE: Stick the replacement label on
the inner wall of the recessed housing before
installation.

Adjusting the spring clips
□ The factory setting of the spring clips is for 6 in. recessed
can housings. To install in 5 in. recessed can housings,
loosen the two screws in the brackets holding the spring
clips on both sides of the LED light module using a Phillips
screwdriver (not included).
□ Slide the brackets holding the spring clips inward until the
screws are in the 5 in. position, then tighten the screws
using a Phillips screwdriver (not included).

Connecting the socket adapter
□ Screw the medium base (E26) socket adapter (B) into the
socket in the recessed housing.

Connecting the cables
□ Plug the cable connector on the socket adapter (B) into the
connector on the LED light module (A).

Replacing the spring clips with
friction clips
□ Unscrew the two brackets holding the spring clips
and remove them. Install two friction clips (C)
onto the LED light module (A) using the screws
removed from the spring clip brackets. For a 5 in.
recessed can housing, tighten the screws into the
holes labeled “5” using a Phillips screwdriver (not
included). For a 6 in. can, tighten the screws into the
holes just to the right of “6”. For cans up to 6.7 in.,
choose a hole to the left of “6” for best fit.

□ Compress the spring clips on the LED light module (A)
and insert into the ears on the inside of the recessed can
housing.

□ Carefully push the LED light module (A) into the recessed
can housing until the trim is flush with the ceiling surface.

Connecting the socket adapter

can and firmly push against the friction clip (C), while
inserting the other side into the can housing.

□ Once both clips are inside, carefully push the LED light
module (A) up into the recessed can housing until the
trim is flush with the ceiling surface.

□ From your smart device’s App Store, download
the Commercial Electric™ Lighting app to your
smart device.
Controlling the Light with Bluetooth

wireless technology

Connecting to a Bluetooth
®
wireless
technology enabled device
□ Turn on your LED downlight.
□ Enable Bluetooth on your smart device.
□ Open the Commercial Electric™ Lighting app, wait for the smart
device to detect the downlight, and select the downlight to pair
the device to the light. The light will blink four times if pairing is
successful.
NOTICE: If using a dimmer with this light, for best results
set your dimmer at the highest setting.
NOTICE: Reset your light if the pairing is taking longer than
expected. Turn off your light for 3 seconds, then turn it back
on for 3 seconds. Repeat these steps five times. The light
will blink and then is ready for connecting to the Commercial
Electric™ Lighting app.

Controlling your LED downlight
□ Now that the downlight is paired with your Bluetooth
wireless technology enabled device, you can directly
control the light whenever it is in range.
NOTICE: Bluetooth enabled smart devices
typically have a range of approximately 33 ft. (10 m).
Attempting to pair your smart device to the downlight
beyond the intended range can result in inconsistent
performance or failure to connect.

Troubleshooting
WARNING: Before doing any work on the fixture, disconnect power to the light fixture.
Minor problems often can be fixed without the help of an electrician.
Problem Possible Cause Solution
The fixture will not light. The power is off. Ensure the power supply is on.
The circuit breaker is off. Ensure the circuit breaker is in the on position.
There is a bad connection. Check to ensure proper wire connections are made.
Contact a qualified electrician.
There is a defective switch. Contact a qualified electrician.
The fuse blows or the circuit breaker
trips when the light is turned on.
The wires are crossed or the power
wire is grounding out.
Check the wire connections.
Contact a qualified electrician or call Commercial
Electric customer service 1-877-527-0313.
The Bluetooth downlight will not pair with
a smart device.
The Bluetooth feature is turned off on
the smart device.
Ensure the Bluetooth function is turned on within
the device settings. A Bluetooth symbol should be
visible somewhere on the device screen.
Charge up the device being paired with the
downlight. Smart power management may have
turned off the Bluetooth function when low on
power.
The smart device is out of range of the
Bluetooth downlight.
Be sure the downlight is within 33 ft. (10 m) of the
smart device.
The smart device is not discoverable. Turn on “Discoverable” mode on the device to
allow the downlight and smart device to recognize
each other.
The smart device did not automatically
connect to the Bluetooth downlight.
Confirm the device’s “Discoverable” mode is
turned on to allow the downlight and smart device
to recognize each other.
Go to the pairing list on the device and manually
connect the device to the downlight.
The downlight is not powered on. Make sure the downlight is properly connected and
the power is turned on.
Ensure the circuit breaker is in the on position.
Interference is causing confusion with
the connection.
Power both the device and the downlight off and
back on.
Delete the downlight from the smart device and
rediscover it.
Move away from Wi-Fi routers or computers that
could be causing interference.

CAUTION: Before attempting to clean the fixture, disconnect the power to the fixture.
□ Clean the fixture with a soft, dry cloth.
□ Do not use cleaners with chemicals, solvents, or harsh abrasives.

Cortar el suministro eléctrico
□ Asegúrese de cortar el suministro eléctrico a la carcasa
empotrada donde se instalará lámpara. Retire el reborde y
la bombilla existentes, para dejar el portalámpara.
NOTA: Aplique la etiqueta de reemplazo en la
pared interior de la carcasa empotrada antes de la
instalación.

Ajustar las pinzas de muelle
□ El ajuste de fábrica de las pinzas de muelle es para
carcasas empotradas cilíndricas de 6 pulg. Para instalar
el producto en carcasas de 5 pulg. afloje los dos tornillos
de las abrazaderas que sostienen las pinzas de muelle en
ambos lados del módulo de luz LED con un destornillador
de estrella (no incluido).
□ Deslice las abrazaderas que sostienen las pinzas de muelle
hacia dentro hasta que los tornillos se encuentren en la
posición de 5 pulgadas; luego, ajuste los tornillos con un
destornillador de estrella (no incluido).

□ Desatornille las dos abrazaderas que sostienen las pinzas
de muelle y retírelas.
□ Instale dos broches de fricción (C) en el módulo de luz
LED (A) con los tornillos que retiró de las abrazaderas de
las pinzas de muelle. Para una carcasa empotrada de 5
pulgadas ajuste los tornillos en los orificios marcados con
“5” con un destornillador de estrella (no incluido). Para una
carcasa de 6 pulgadas, apriete los tornillos en los orificios
que están a la derecha de “6”. Para carcasas de 6.7
pulgadas, elija un orificio a la izquierda de “6” para lograr
un mejor ajuste.

□ Comprima las pinzas de muelle del módulo de luz LED
(A) e insértelos en las orejas en el interior de la carcasa
empotrada.

□ Presione cuidadosamente el módulo de luz LED (A) en la
carcasa empotrada hasta que el reborde esté al ras de la
supercie del techo.
AVISO: Seleccione la temperatura de color
preferida de la luz antes de empujar el módulo de
luz LED en la carcasa empotrada.

Conexión a un dispositivo habilitado con
la tecnología inalámbrica Bluetooth
®
□ Active la lámpara LED de proyector
□ Habilite el Bluetooth en su dispositivo inteligente.
□ Abra la aplicación Commercial Electric™ Lighting, espere a
que el dispositivo inteligente detecte la lámpara de proyector y
seleccione la lámpara de proyector para acoplar el dispositivo a la
luz. La luz parpadeará cuatro veces si el acoplamiento es exitoso.
AVISO: Si utiliza un regulador de intensidad con estas luces, para
obtener mejores resultados, configure el regulador de intensidad en
la posición más alta.
AVISO: Reinicie la luz si el apareamiento tarda más tiempo de
lo esperado. Apague la luz por tres segundos, luego vuelva a
encenderla por tres segundos. Repita estos pasos cinco veces.
La luz parpadeará y luego está listo para conectar a Commercial
Electric™ Lighting app.

□ Ahora que la lámpara de proyector está acoplada con
su dispositivo con tecnología inalámbrica Bluetooth,
puede controlar directamente la lámpara siempre que
esté a su alcance.
AVISO: Los dispositivos inteligentes con Bluetooth
habilitado generalmente tienen un alcance de 33
pies aproximadamente (10 m). Si intenta conectar su
dispositivo inteligente para el proyector a una mayor
distancia, puede que obtenga un rendimiento irregular
o una conexión fallida.

Solucíon de problemas
ADVERTENCIA: Antes de realizar cualquier trabajo en el dispositivo, desconecte la electricidad que lo alimenta.
Los problemas menores pueden arreglarse sin ayuda de un electricista.

La lámpara no enciende. El suministro eléctrico está cortado. Asegúrese de que el suministro eléctrico esté activado.
El interruptor está apagado. Asegúrese de que el interruptor esté en la posición de
encendido.
Hay una mala conexión. Asegúrese de que se hayan conectado los cables de forma
correcta. Comuníquese con un electricista calificado.
Hay un interruptor defectuoso. Comuníquese con un electricista calificado.
El fusible se quema o salta el
interruptor cuando se enciende
la lámpara.
Los cables están cruzados o el cable
de suministro eléctrico no está puesto
a tierra.
Verifique las conexiones de los cables.

Los parlantes Bluetooth no se
conectan con el dispositivo
inteligente.
La función Bluetooth está apagada en
el dispositivo inteligente.
Asegúrese que la función Bluetooth esté encendida en la
configuración del dispositivo. Se debería ver un símbolo de
Bluetooth en alguna parte de la pantalla del dispositivo.
Cargue el dispositivo que va a conectar con la lámpara. El
administrador de energía inteligente puede haber apagado la
función de Bluetooth si la batería está baja.
El dispositivo inteligente está fuera del
rango de los parlantes Bluetooth.
Asegúrese que la lámpara se encuentre dentro de los 33 pies
(10 m) del dispositivo inteligente.
El dispositivo inteligente no se
encuentra visible.
Encienda el modo “Visible” en el dispositivo para que la
lámpara y el dispositivo se reconozcan mutuamente.
El dispositivo inteligente no se conectó
automáticamente a los parlantes
Bluetooth.
Confirme que el modo “Visible” esté encendido en el
dispositivo para que la lámpara y el dispositivo se reconozcan
mutuamente.
Vaya a la lista de conexión en el dispositivo y conecte
manualmente el dispositivo a la lámpara.
La lámpara no está encendida. Asegúrese que la lámpara esté conectada a un tomacorriente
que funcione correctamente.
Cerciórese que el interruptor esté en la posición de encendido.
Hay interferencia que provoca
confusión en la conexión.
Apague y encienda nuevamente tanto
el dispositivo
Apague y encienda nuevamente tanto el dispositivo
Apague otros dispositivos que se hayan conectado antes con
la lámpara.
Elimine la lámpara del dispositivo inteligente y vuelva a
reconocerlo.
Aléjese del router Wi-Fi o computadoras que puedan provocar
la interferencia.

Cuidado y limpieza
PRECAUCIÓN: Antes de limpiar el dispositivo desconecte el suministro eléctrico.
□ Limpie la lámpara con un paño suave y seco.
□ No utilice limpiadores con productos químicos, solventes o abrasivos.
